meet your farmer

Hi there! My name is Nali and I’m the farmer behind Earthworks Farm. I’ve spent the past few years working on farms and learning from incredible land stewards. I’m excited to have the opportunity to steward a small but mighty 1/8th-acre plot this year with Black Farmers Collective at Small Axe Farm. We’re grateful to be growing in the fertile TukMuk soil of the Sammamish River Valley on Coast Salish lands.

I find growing food to be joyful, creative, and endlessly rewarding. I dream of a future where communities, land, and farmers are held in close reciprocal relationships, gently tending to and caring for one another. This future is anti-capitalist, unequivocally pro-Black and pro-Indigenous, and liberated for all. My goal is to bring a slice of this dream to life through Earthworks Farm!

When I don’t have my hands in the soil, you can usually find me with my hands in the mud! I’m also a ceramics artist and instructor in Seattle, and love to create earth-inspired functional ceramics wares. This is what first inspired the name Earthworks - creating works (nourishing produce and ceramic goods) with earth as the medium! I’m really interested in exploring the intersection of farming as art, and hope to host on-farm arts workshops this summer… stay tuned!
